Little things I know-which

Matthew 6:9"Our Father which art in heaven,..." People like to use who art in heaven. Which is specific and identified from a larger known group. Not just any father but specifically Our Father, the one that is in heaven. Who is a clause giving information about a person, not being a specific person but just saying where someone is at right now.

My G-d is the one which art in heaven.

Little things I know- begotten

"For G-d so loved the world that he gave His only begotten Son,..." John 3:16 People like to use the term "only son" instead of "only begotten Son". G-d has many sons -anyone having faith in the shed blood of the Messiah is a son of G-d.  G-d has only one "begotten" Son, born of a virgin by the overshadowing of the Holy Ghost, G-d in the flesh, come down to redeem fallen man.

Little things I know-Confound

"Therefore is the name of it called Babel; because the L-RD did there confound the language of all the earth and from thence did the L-RD scatter them abroad upon the face of all the earth." Genesis 11:9

People will substitute confusion for confound. Confound is to overflow, to mix. The common language that everyone spoke was mixed with new sounds so the total population could not understand one another, only families could understand one another but not the whole population. Confusion is an unnatural mixture, such as bestiality. Words and unintelligible sound would be unnatural mixture, where no one could understand. Elsewhere in scripture it says "G-d is not the author of confusion"

Little Things I know - Grace

For the next few weeks the posts will be of "little" things in the scripture that people like to change but make a difference in our understanding of G-d's truths.

Genesis 6:7-8 "And the L-RD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth: both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them. But Noah found grace in the eyes of the L-RD."

People like to change G-d's grace to favour. G-d's grace is all about His kindness, His stooping to an inferior, nothing we have done or asked for His acceptance. Grace is all about G-d's greatness in giving what has not been earned. Favour is all about what a person sees with the eye, the physical outward beauty or actions of a person.  G-d was not looking on the outward appearance of Noah or any of Noah's outward actions. G-d was looking on Noah with G-d's kindness. Noah had a heart for G-d and a desire to please him but no person can live in this world without being a sinner. In spite of Noah's sins G-d showed kindness or grace toward Noah .

Bitten by a serpent

When the people murmered against G-d and Moses, G-d brought judgement on the peoples sin by serpents biting them, causing death. G-d in mercy also provided a way of escape by commanding Moses to make a fiery serpent and put it on a pole. Numbers 21:9 "And Moses made a serpent of brass, and put it upon a pole, and it came to pass that if a serpent had bitten any man, when he beheld the serpent of brass, he lived."

The serpent is a picture of Satan, the serpent's bite  is a picture of sin, the brass serpent is a picture of sin judged. This picture of sin judged by G-d is fulfilled in the New Covenant "And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up" John 3:14 When the Son of Man was lifted up on a tree, just like the brass serpent, it was for G-d's judgement of our sins. The Messiah was lifted up on the tree so that who ever looks on Messiah Yeshua will have their transgressions taken away by the Blood and live eternally with G-d.
