What Did You Expect?... Yom Kippur

Be honest as you think, what did you expect the Messiah to do or to be. Is The Messiah to be a ruler of kingdoms, bringing peace for the nation, a political genius? G-d's word tells of The Messiah's first coming to redeem our souls from hell and make us right with G-d . Isaiah 7:14 states "Therefore the L-rd himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel." (Immanuel means G-d with us) The second coming of Messiah would be to reign a thousand years. One cannot enter the kingdom without receiving the King first. The prophet Isaiah also tells why Immanuel was born.In Isaiah 53:10, Isaiah clearly says Immanuel was the blood sacrifice offered for man's sin "Yet it pleased the L-RD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the L-RD shall prosper in his hand. He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many: for he shall bear their iniquities. Not only would The Messiah's days be prolonged, that is Messiah would be raised from the dead, but also by his knowledge would many be justified, when one knows who the Messiah is and receives the sacrifice to cover their sins, one is justified before G-d.

Other prophecies concerning the Messiah
Genesis 22 "And Abraham said, My son , G-d will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering:..."
(prophecy concerning G-d being the lamb sacrifice one day)
Isaiah 53:7 "...he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, ..."

These scriptures were fullfilled in John 1:29 "The next day John seeth Yeshua ( Jesus )coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of G-d, which taketh away the sin of the world."

Yeshua, in conclusion

There are other marks of this Chosen One, The Messiah. He said of Himself: "For dogs have compassed me: the assembly of the wicked have inclosed me: they pierced my hands and my feet: Psalm 22:16. "So they weighed for my price thirty pieces of silver." Zechariah 11:12. "And one shall say unto him, What are these wounds in thine hands: Then he shall answer, Those with which I was wounded in the house of my friends." Zechariah 13:6 "Come near unto me, hear ye this; I have not spoken in secret from the beginning; from the time that it was, there am I : and now the L-rd G-d, and his Spirit, hath sent me. Thus saith the L-RD, thy Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; I am the L-RD thy G-d which teacheth thee to profit, which leadeth thee by the way that thou shouldest go..." Isaiah48:16,17

Yes, The Messiah is come, and He was crucified, He was hung on a tree and poured out His atoning blood for you and for me, Nevertheless, His body did not remain in the grave. "Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh also shall rest in hope. For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption." Psalm 16:9,10 He arose from the grave conquering sin and death for all who will call on His Name for the forgiveness of their sins.

Remember, "And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the L-RD shall be delivered:."Joel 2:32. The name of the L-RD, The Messiah is Yeshua HA-Mashiach. Call on His Name and ask Him to apply His blood of atonement to your sins. You will have peace of mind that your sins are forgiven, and you will have your place in Gan Eden. To have a person's sins blotted out

continued from previous post

First, one must realize that they have sinned against G-D himself. "But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags..." Isaiah 64:6 There is a trouble, a cause of sinning. In Jeremiah chapter 17 verse 9 the answer for the cause of sinning is found. The verse says "The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?" There is One Who does know the heart, and Who will repay the the wrongs done. "I the L-RD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings," Jeremiah 17:10. "Behold, all souls are mine, as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die." Ezekiel 18:4 "The wicked shall be turned into hell..." Psalm 9:17

But the same just G-D is merciful. He says, "Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered." Psalm 32:1. He provides the means for the transgression to be forgiven and the sin to be covered. "For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls; For it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul" Leviticus 17:11

But where is the blood G-D has provided? ( to be continued)

Yeshua

The next few posts are taken from a writing my husband penned several years ago. The subject deals with "Yeshua" (salvation).

The prophet Isaiah states G-D's purpose for the people of Israel in Isaiah chapter 43, verse 21, "This people have I formed for myself; they shall shew forth my praise." And verse 22 also states why Israel does not bring praise to G-D. "But thou hast not called upon me, O Jacob; but thou hast been weary of me, O Israel." In verse 27 G-D speaks of Israel's problem. "Thy first father hath sinned, and thy teachers have transgressed against me."

In spite of being separated from G-D by transgression of His law and sin, G-D has provided for reconciliation to Him.

G-D says in the Tenach, "Come now, and let us reason together, saith the L-RD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow. Though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool:" Isaiah 1:8 He wants to reason with individuals and show one how to be redeemed, to have a person's sins blotted out. (to be continued)
