How much is your soul worth?

In Ezekiel 18:4 G-d speaks"Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die." The question the Messiah of Israel asks is"..what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?"Mark 8:37. The answer is, there is nothing man can give to G-d to redeem his soul from hell. G-d provided Hs own sacrifice for man's sin through the shed blood of the Holy One of Israel, Yeshua the Messiah. Even though G-d took on the form of a human, He did not take on the fallen sin nature of man. As Isaiah explained when Messiah died, he died for the sins of me and you. He had no sin of His own. "But he was wounded for our transgressions,he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed." So that is how much your soul is worth to G-d , the sacrifice of G-d's only begotten son, Yeshua the Messiah.

The soul that sinneth

G-d is speaking to Ezekiel in Ezekiel chapter 18:4 "Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die,"

In Leviticus 17:11 G-d tells how a soul can live. "For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul."

In Isaiah 53 G-d tells of his blood sacrifice that cleanses a soul from sin. "...But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed."Here is the whole chapter describing the Redeemer of Israel and the Redeemer of mankind.

"Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the L-RD revealed?  For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him.  He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our  faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.  Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of G-d, and afflicted.  But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the L-RD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.  He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.  He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken.  And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth.  Yet it pleased the L-RD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the L-RD shall prosper in his hand.
He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many, for he shall bear their iniquities.  Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors."

A Hanukkah Riddle for You

This riddle comes from Tenak in Proverbs 30:4  "Who hath ascended up into heaven, or descended? who hath gathered the wind in his fists? who hath bound the waters in a garment? who hath established all the ends of the earth? what is his name and what is his son's name, if  thou canst tell?"

Happy Hanukah

Please excuse my spelling. I know there is more than one way of spelling hanukah depending if your family comes from the Ashkenazim background or the Sephardi background. My phonics are not that great so this is how I spell it. Have a blessed remembrance of G-d's deliverance and take courage. He is the same G-d today that He was then.

The "Great Commandment"

"And thou shalt love the L-RD thy G-d with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might." Deuteronomy 6:5

Love is the basis for the great commandment. The New Covenant tells us "Put on therefore, as the elect of G-d, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering: forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Messiah forgave you, so also do ye.And above all these things, put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness."

When we love G-d with all our heart, soul, and might we will love others.

Repentance: man's view vs The Bible

have you ever heard of Teshuva? I hadn't until I came across an article on a web site that was explaining the rabinic concept of repentance. It is interesting that the rabinic concept of repentance has to do with good works. Here is a quote from Rabbi Yonason Goldson's article. "Teshuva is a process of self-transformation, of changing ourselves into the kinds of individuals incapable of ever again committing our earlier transgressions and indiscretions. "

Have you ever looked in the Bible to see what G-d says of good works? "For thou, L-RD, hast made me glad through thy work: I will triumph in the works of thy hands. O L-RD, how great are thy works and thy thoughts are very deep."Psalm 92:4,5 Most of works in the Bible has to do with G-d's works. Only G-d can transform a person into a new creature when we have repentance toward G-d and faith toward our Messiah Yeshua. The Bible does mention our righteousness. "But we are all as an unclean thing , and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags, and we all do fade as a leaf: and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away." Isaiah 64:6

Given the choice of G-d changing me or depending on my own righteousness that is as filthy rags, I will choose G-d to change me. What will you choose?

How does Jacob's Trouble end

Zechariah 13:8,9"And it shall come to pass, that in all the land, saith the L-RD, two parts therein shall be cut off and die; but the third shall be left therein. And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will try them as gold is tried: they shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, It is my people: and they shall say, The L-RD is my G-d"The end of Jacob's trouble comes about when Israel as a nation recognizes their Messiah. "And one shall say unto him, What are these wounds in thine hands: Then he shall answer, Those with which I was wounded in the house of my friends." Zechariah 13:6

Once Yeshua returns to put all enemies under his feet, the one thousand year reign begins with Yeshua King ruling from Jerusalem. What happens during and after the one thousand years is another subject for a different post.

Jacob's trouble is a terrible time not to be compared with inquisitions or Holocaust. It is a time that can be avoided if one will repent toward G-d and have faith toward our L-RD Yeshua

Time of Jacob's trouble

The Time of Jacob's Trouble begins after the church ( any person, Jew or Gentile, that has repented toward G-d and has faith toward our L-rd Yeshua) is taken out of the world.

The Time of Jacob's Trouble will last 7 years.
The first 3 1/2 year period starts with G-d allowing a one world ruler to come in peacefully to rule from Jerusalem, ruthlessly maintaining power. G-d's judgement starts to be poured out on the earth at the same time the one world ruler is taking control of the world. Some of G-d's plagues are 1)1/3 of trees burnt up and all green grass by hail and fire mingled with blood. 2)1/3 of sea becomes blood and 1/3 of living creatures which were in the sea die and 1/3 part of the ships are destroyed. 3)1/3 part of the waters became wormwood and many men will die of the waters because they were made bitter. 4)1/3 part of the sun is smitten and the 1/3 part of the moon and stars are darkened and the day doesn't shine for 1/3 part of the day or the night. There are more plaques. You can read them in Revelation chapters 8 and 9  Two witnesses do miracles proclaiming the One true G-d. When they are killed a great party is thrown. 31/2 days later G-d brings them back to life and they are taken up in a cloud. Revelation 11:3-12

In the second half of the time of Jacob's trouble, (the great tribulation),there are 144,000 Jewish virgin males,  12 thousand sealed from each tribe, that witness to the people that Yeshua is the Messiah and to receive him. They are all martyred.  Many people turn to G-d as a result of their testimony.

The second 31/2 year period starts with the one world ruler entering the rebuilt temple proclaiming himself G-d and demands worship, giving a number, name, or mark to anyone that will worship him. Without the mark one is not able to buy or sell. Revelation 13:16-18 The Jewish nation as a whole flee Jerusalem.

The one world economic commercial system is destroyed at the last 31/2 year period. All nations come against Israel. Revelation 16:14-16

Israel on my heart

Seeing the pressure Israel is under right now can be frightening but I know who is keeping the country from extinction.  Can anyone deny the G-d of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob has his hand over this small country. As much as the world tries to control or annihilate Israel it just becomes a burdensome stone to them and Israel still stands. Zechariah 12:3  "And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it." Praise G-d! Take heart, G-d has not forsaken his chosen people.  The State of Israel is G-d's standard against the wicked.  One day,  G-d's hand on Israel will lead Israel as a nation to recognize their Messiah just as individual Israeli's  do today.

Comparison of The Tenach and The New Covenant - Out of The Mouths of Babes

Psalm 8: "Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength because of thine enemies, that thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger."

compare with

Matthew 21:15 and 16 "And when the chief priests and scribes saw the wonderful things that he did, and the children crying in the temple, and saying , Hosanna to the Son of David; they were sore displeased, And said unto him, Hearest thou what these say? And Yeshua(Jesus) saith unto them, Yea; have ye never read, Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings thou hast perfected praise?"

Comparing The Tenach and The New Covenant

In the comparison of the Tenach and The New Covenant I will begin with fulfilled prophecies and then at times I will also compare the teachings of Yeshua in the New Covenant with the teachings in the Tenach.

Isaiah7:14 "Therefore the L-Rd himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel."

Compare with

Matthew 1:18-23 "Now the birth of Yeshua The Messiah was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost. Then Joseph her husband, being a just man , and not willing to make her a publick example, was minded to put her away privily, But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the L-RD appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost. And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name YESHUA: for he shall save his people from their sins. Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the L-Rd by the prophet saying, Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is G-d with us."

Since the Tenach was written mainly in Hebrew and The New Covenant was written in Greek some of the same words translate with different spelling. For example Immanuel is translated into English from the Hebrew and Emmanuel is translated from the Greek into English. They are the same word with different spelling because of being translated from two different languages. Yeshua is the same word in Hebrew as Jesus is in the Greek. Since the name Jesus has been so misused by every religion there is, (Every major religion has a Jesus and none of them are the Jesus of the Bible )I have chosen to use the Hebrew name, Yeshua

Comparative Religion Class

Have you ever met someone who has taken a "Comparative Religion" class? It is funny to see a person think they have the corner of understanding on religions of the world after going through such a class. Depending on who the instructor is and his attitude, comprehension and personal beliefs the outcome can be varying with many distorted facts.

I am not about to start a Comparative Religion Class. The problem is every religion in the world is based on "good works" to get a person to "heaven". What a waste of time.My "goodness" or "good works" has no bearing on G-d's righteousness imputed to me when I repented of my sins and had faith toward Yeshua to forgive me of my sins and wash them away with his shed blood on the tree.

What I will start doing for awhile is compare the Tenach and the New Covenant to show their exactness in saying the same thing. The witness of both sets of scripture agree with each other.

Hope you will enjoy the comparisons

What Did You Expect?... Yom Kippur

Be honest as you think, what did you expect the Messiah to do or to be. Is The Messiah to be a ruler of kingdoms, bringing peace for the nation, a political genius? G-d's word tells of The Messiah's first coming to redeem our souls from hell and make us right with G-d . Isaiah 7:14 states "Therefore the L-rd himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel." (Immanuel means G-d with us) The second coming of Messiah would be to reign a thousand years. One cannot enter the kingdom without receiving the King first. The prophet Isaiah also tells why Immanuel was born.In Isaiah 53:10, Isaiah clearly says Immanuel was the blood sacrifice offered for man's sin "Yet it pleased the L-RD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the L-RD shall prosper in his hand. He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many: for he shall bear their iniquities. Not only would The Messiah's days be prolonged, that is Messiah would be raised from the dead, but also by his knowledge would many be justified, when one knows who the Messiah is and receives the sacrifice to cover their sins, one is justified before G-d.

Other prophecies concerning the Messiah
Genesis 22 "And Abraham said, My son , G-d will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering:..."
(prophecy concerning G-d being the lamb sacrifice one day)
Isaiah 53:7 "...he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, ..."

These scriptures were fullfilled in John 1:29 "The next day John seeth Yeshua ( Jesus )coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of G-d, which taketh away the sin of the world."

Yeshua, in conclusion

There are other marks of this Chosen One, The Messiah. He said of Himself: "For dogs have compassed me: the assembly of the wicked have inclosed me: they pierced my hands and my feet: Psalm 22:16. "So they weighed for my price thirty pieces of silver." Zechariah 11:12. "And one shall say unto him, What are these wounds in thine hands: Then he shall answer, Those with which I was wounded in the house of my friends." Zechariah 13:6 "Come near unto me, hear ye this; I have not spoken in secret from the beginning; from the time that it was, there am I : and now the L-rd G-d, and his Spirit, hath sent me. Thus saith the L-RD, thy Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; I am the L-RD thy G-d which teacheth thee to profit, which leadeth thee by the way that thou shouldest go..." Isaiah48:16,17

Yes, The Messiah is come, and He was crucified, He was hung on a tree and poured out His atoning blood for you and for me, Nevertheless, His body did not remain in the grave. "Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh also shall rest in hope. For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption." Psalm 16:9,10 He arose from the grave conquering sin and death for all who will call on His Name for the forgiveness of their sins.

Remember, "And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the L-RD shall be delivered:."Joel 2:32. The name of the L-RD, The Messiah is Yeshua HA-Mashiach. Call on His Name and ask Him to apply His blood of atonement to your sins. You will have peace of mind that your sins are forgiven, and you will have your place in Gan Eden. ( In Heaven with the Eternal.)

To have a person's sins blotted out

continued from previous post

First, one must realize that they have sinned against G-D himself. "But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags..." Isaiah 64:6 There is a trouble, a cause of sinning. In Jeremiah chapter 17 verse 9 the answer for the cause of sinning is found. The verse says "The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?" There is One Who does know the heart, and Who will repay the the wrongs done. "I the L-RD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings," Jeremiah 17:10. "Behold, all souls are mine, as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die." Ezekiel 18:4 "The wicked shall be turned into hell..." Psalm 9:17

But the same just G-D is merciful. He says, "Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered." Psalm 32:1. He provides the means for the transgression to be forgiven and the sin to be covered. "For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls; For it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul" Leviticus 17:11

But where is the blood G-D has provided? ( to be continued)

Yeshua

The next few posts are taken from a writing my husband penned several years ago. The subject deals with "Yeshua" (salvation).

The prophet Isaiah states G-D's purpose for the people of Israel in Isaiah chapter 43, verse 21, "This people have I formed for myself; they shall shew forth my praise." And verse 22 also states why Israel does not bring praise to G-D. "But thou hast not called upon me, O Jacob; but thou hast been weary of me, O Israel." In verse 27 G-D speaks of Israel's problem. "Thy first father hath sinned, and thy teachers have transgressed against me."

In spite of being separated from G-D by transgression of His law and sin, G-D has provided for reconciliation to Him.

G-D says in the Tenach, "Come now, and let us reason together, saith the L-RD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow. Though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool:" Isaiah 1:8 He wants to reason with individuals and show one how to be redeemed, to have a person's sins blotted out. (to be continued)

Eternal Life One Month til Yom Kippur-how to get ready

"For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul." Leviticus 17:11 G-d is speaking of His atonement for mankind.

Promise:"But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed." The Holy One of Israel, The Redeemer Yeshua The Messiah (Jesus The Christ) cleanses us from our transgressions.

G-d's sacrifice-Getting ready for Yom Kippur

So, Where is G-d's promised sacrifice that is looked forward to during this time of year? Isaiah gave the answer in Isaiah 52:13 through Isaiah 53. The suffering servant, the righteous servant is G-d's sacrifice for our souls. As this scripture is read, keep in mind it does not describe Israel itself for Israel never suffered for others sins but its own sins and was never a righteous servant as Israel was taken captive to Babylon and other places because of their unrighteousness. Isaiah says "'Behold, my servant shall deal prudently, he shall be exalted and extolled, and be very high. As many were astonied at thee; his visage was so marred more than any man, and his form more than the sons of men: So shall he sprinkle many nations; the kings shall shut their mouths at him: for that which had not been told them shall they see; and that which they had not heard shall they consider. Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the L-RD revealed? For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form, nor comeliness and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him. He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of G-d and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes, we are healed. He was taken from prison and from judgement: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken. He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities. Therefore will I divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors."

This is G-d's promised sacrifice for "all we like sheep have gone astray...". We thought G-d had smitten him but he was smitten for" our transgressions..." G-d's sacrifice made his grave with the wicked and with the rich in his death..." but G-d's sacrifice did not stay in the grave,"..he shall prolong his days..."Next post will deal with more prophecies of G-d's sacrifice for mans sin.

Where is the sacrifice for Yom Kippur

Yom Kippur is coming in about six weeks. The blood atonement is expected and waited for. For centuries it has been anticipated. Where is the blood atonement that G-d promised in Leviticus 17:11 "For the life of the flesh is in the blood and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul." G-d says life is in the blood, ( "For the life of the flesh is in the blood...") and G-d himself says He has given the blood, to make peace for your soul(and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls...")Here G-d is making the sacrifice, (He says "..I have given it...")not man making the sacrifice. G-d is doing it for man to atone for man's soul. Where is G-d's blood that He sacrificed for the atonement of man's soul? Think about it.

Foundations

In building a house there a two basic types of foundations that I know of. The first type of foundation you find used a lot in Texas and is the newer type called slab foundation. It consists of preparing the ground, digging trenches for footings, putting down a layer of gravel, using re bar and finally pouring the cement to reach about 4 inches above the ground. The older method is called pier and beam foundation. Holes are dug deep into the ground, footings are poured and piers are put on top of the footings. The piers rise up out of the ground as high as you want your sub floor to be off the ground. The piers are used to support the beams that the house is built on. It is hard for people to believe that the pier and beam foundation happens to be the stronger of the two types, especially if you have seen mostly the slab foundation used all you life.

No matter which foundation is chosen, they perform the same function, to build a house upon . One is stronger ,will withstand more stress and will have more stability. There will be more security using the stronger foundation, last longer with less problems.

This comparison reminds me of the Bible issue. The Authorized King James Version had been the foundation for doctrine for almost 400 years. In it you can find the Trinity,Coming Redeemer and King, virgin birth, sinless life of the Redeemer, blood atonement, death, burial, bodily resurrection, The Son's Ascension into heaven, sitting on the right hand of the Father, coming again. This foundation has given us a fear of G-d, producing wisdom and knowledge. It has caused many to see their guilt before G-d, to repent( to turn from their wrong way to G-d and His way having faith in Yeshua's  blood atonement).

Other versions started being proclaimed as better. Since then, fear of G-d has died along with the wisdom and knowledge the fear of G-d brought. People are confused, cannot see any difference in G-d's way and the way of the world.

The Bible says "If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?" Psalm 11:3

Looking at Isaiah40:3

Isaiah 40:3 "The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the L-RD, make straight in the desert a highway for our G-d."

Compare with

Matthew 3:1-3 "In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judaea, And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. For this is he that was spoken of by the prophet Esaias, saying The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the L-RD, make his paths straight."

Have you noticed the Tenach and the New Covenant interact with each other and give the same witness concerning the Messiah.

Isaiah 53:4

Isaiah 53:4 "Surely he hath borne our griefs and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of G-d, and afflicted."

Compare with

Matthew 8: 16-17 "When the even was come, they brought unto him many that were possessed with devils; and he cast out the spirits with his word, and healed all that were sick: That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses."

Yeshua is the one being talked about in the Tenach(Old Covenant) and in the New Covenant.  He is the one sent from G-d, wrapped in human flesh to be born of a virgin,  anointed of G-d to bear our sins on the tree of Golgotha, to pay for our sins with his blood poured out, to be buried and rise bodily in three days, to ascend up into heaven after many days and coming again to set up his thousand year kingdom.  What a holy G-d we serve.

The Lowly King - Comparing The Tenach and The New Covenant

In the Tenach  Zechariah 9:9 says "Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass."

compare with

Matthew 21:1 "And when they drew nigh unto Jerusalem, and were come to Bethphage, unto the mount of Olives, then sItalicent Yeshua(Jesus) two disciples, Saying unto them, Go into the village over against you, and straightway ye shall find an ass tied, and a colt with her: loose them , and bring them unto me . And if any man say ought unto you,, ye shall say, The L-rd hath need of them; and straightway he will send them. All this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying, Tell ye the daughter of Sion, Behold, Thy King cometh unto thee, meek, and sitting upon an ass, and a colt the foal of an ass."

Two Messiah's?

As a whole, people understand that Messiah comes from the line of David and is from Bethlehem . Tenach prophecies of this. "Behold, the days come saith the L-RD, that I will raise unto David a righteous Branch, and a King shall reign and prosper, and shall execute judgement and justice in the earth. In his days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely: and this is his name whereby he shall be called, THE L-RD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS." Jeremiah 23:5,6.
These verses speak of the thousand year kingdom when Messiah shall reign. This event is yet to happen. Micah 5:2 speaks of the birth place of Messiah when he came the first time and is one of the ways a person can recognize who the Messiah is. "But thou, Beth-lehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting." Not only do these verses prophecy The Messiah's birth but also it states Messiah has always been and his reign as king is to be, which means The Messiah's reign is in the future, not at the same time as his first coming.

The tenach tells of different purposes for The Messiah's two comings, the first time to be the suffering lamb of G-d which taketh away the sins of the world( Isaiah chapter 53) and the second time to rule and reign in Jerusalem. Because of two separate comings of the one Messiah some people mistakenly think there are two Messiah's and use the prophecy of Joseph in Genesis 49: 22-24 as proof that there are two Messiahs and the second Messiah comes from the tribe of Joseph . Verse 24 says"But his bow abode in strength, and the arms of his hands were made strong by the hands of the mighty G-d of Jacob; (from thence is the shepherd, the stone of Israel:)" People think the phrase "From thence is the shepherd" is speaking of a Messiah, the second one that will come from the tribe of Joseph. You will notice before the phrase, from thence is the shepherd, the stone of Israel, the verse is speaking of G-d and the phrase is clarifying where the shepherd is coming from, not from Jacob but from G-d. Once again this verse is speaking of Messiah's deity, he is from G-d and not from the tribe of Joseph.

Babes, Guns, and The Bible

People are  reasoning that Bible believing people are hypocritical because they are against abortion but are for guns.  I would like to attempt to explain the difference to anyone that is sincere in wanting to understand.

"Lo, children are an heritage of the L-RD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward."  We can not have children without having babies first.  They are directly linked to the blessing of God, his heritage to us.  We can not continue to exist without babies. They are the future.  Without babies there is no next generation.  To kill an unborn child is to kill the future, to kill a living life itself

Guns have never killed one single person.  Guns are not immoral or moral.  Guns have no purpose for good or for evil.Guns are no different than a car that kills a pedestrian or runs head first into an oncoming car in the next lane killing all passengers.  The action behind the gun or car comes from people's actions just as a murdered baby comes from a person(s)actions.  The person is responsible for the action, killing, not the object whether a knife in an abortion murder or a gun in a murder. If people were consistent they would want knife banned so there would be no more abortions.  Of course this is absurd.  It is the people behind the knifes that kill, not the knife just as the people behind the guns do the killing, not the guns.
The Bible sums it up "The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?  I the L-RD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings." Jeremiah 17: 9-10
We will reap what we sow.  If anyone repents toward G-d and has faith toward our L-rd Yeshua(Jesus) G-d will forgive and give us new hearts. "Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean:  from all your filthiness, and from all your idols will I cleanse you.  A new heart also will I give you and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.  And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statues, and ye shall keep my judgements, and do them."  Ezekiel 36: 25-27

Messiah G-d?

People say Messiah is not G-d. Well, what does the Bible say?(Since the Bible is the final authority, not what people say, or what writings about the Bible say.)

In Isaiah 9:6 the prophecy of coming Messiah says "For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty G-d, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace." This verse is a pretty strong indication that Messiah is G-d since the verse specifically says the Messiah is the mighty G-d and the everlasting Father.

Jeremiah 23:5and 6 states "Behold, the days come, saith the L-RD, that I will raise unto David a righteous Branch, and a King shall reign and prosper, and shall execute judgment and justice in the earth, In his days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely: and this is his name whereby he shall be called, THE L_RD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS." Sounds like Messiah is G-d.

Micah 5:2 "But thou, Beth-lehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel: whose goings forth have been from of old from everlasting." The Messiah G-d is from everlasting.

The One True G-d compared with the Triune G-d

Some people believe Christians worship 3 gods . True believers worship One G-d in Three Persons. This is found in Deuteronomy 6:4 where the word " One" used for G-d is a compound unity.  "Here, O Israel: The L-RD our G-d is one L-RD."   Isaiah 48:16and 17 shows the One True G-d in three persons the L-rd G-d, his Spirit, and me(the L-RD).  "Come ye near unto me, hear ye this; I have not spoken in secret from the beginning; from the time that it was, there am I; and now the L-rd G-d, and his Spirit, hath sent me.  Thus saith the L-RD, thy Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; I am the L-RD thy G-d which teacheth thee to profit, which leadeth thee by the way that thou shouldest go."  The "me" speaking is the Redeemer, The Holy One of Israel, The Messiah, G-d himself.

So you see, the Trinity was not started with the Christian believer but was from the beginning of Scriptures, in the Tenach . It is the same doctrine taught today in the New Covenant.

The Gospel in a nutshell

"For G-d so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." John 3:16

Goofing off

Well, there was no post this week because I was goofing off with pleasure.  Taking time off to take 4 grandchildren to Chimney Rock, North Carolina.  We had a room in an old cutesie motel that had a balcony overlooking Rocky Broad River and access to the river.  When the grandchildren saw all that water they started shouting," Thank you, Savta."  You see, their other grandmother had them in the water since they were 6 months old and it was so natural to the four of them  to live in the river for the next two days.  We were there to see Chimney Rock by climbing the 500 stairs to get to the top of Chimney Rock and to see Hickory Nut Falls where the remake film of The Last of the Mohicans was filmed.  We did those things and it was beautiful scenery and a lot of exercise but I think if all we did was play in the river they would have been happy.
Deceptively looking not dangerous river,it was mainly a shallow swift currant and spots deep enough to swim in.

Looking at Lake Lure from top of Chimney Rock.  The flag on top of Chimney Rock.
Grandchildren at bottom of 400 foot falls.  Isn't summer vacation a great treat?  That was a very enjoyable time.  I wore out but so did they, hehehe

The Shadow

As good as G-d's law is it is only a shadow of something better.

One writer, speaking of the ceremonial law, explains it this way. "For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect. For then would they not have ceased to be offered? because that the worshippers once purged should have had no more conscience of sins. But in those sacrifices there is a remembrance again made of sins every year. For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins. Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me: In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin thou hast had no pleasure. Then said I Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will O G-d. Above when he said, Sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and offering for sin thou wouldest not, neither hadst pleasure therein, which are offered by the law; Then said he, Lo I come to do thy will, O G-d. He taketh away the first that he may establish the second. By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Yeshua The Messiah once for all. And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins; But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of G-d; From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool. For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified Whereof the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us: for after that he had said before, This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the L-rd, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them; and their sins and iniquities will I remember no more. Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin. Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by he blood of Yeshua, By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us through the veil, that is to say his flesh; And having an high priest over the house of G-d; Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering;(for he is faithful that promised;) And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries. He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses. O how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of G-d, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace? For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the L-rd. And again, The L-rd shall judge his people. It is a fearful thing to fall in to hands of the living G-d." Hebrews 10:1-31

I hope whoever is reading this has or will look to Yeshua for redemption, the fullfiller of the law .

The Right Counsel

"Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the L-RD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night....For the L-RD knoweth the way of the righteous; but the way of the ungodly shall perish." For a comparison of G-d"s dealings with the righteous and ungodly finish reading all of Psalm 1.

Moses and the Prophets

In order to believe in the Messiah of Israel it is important to believe Moses and the prophets.  It is recorded in The New Covenant  Abraham's reply from Paradise to a man in hell, "If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead."

Here is the whole story told by Yeshua as recorded in the New Covenant (Luke 16:19 - 31)
"There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day: And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores, And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores. And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried; And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.  And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.  But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things; but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented.   And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed; so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence.  Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father;s house:  For I  have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment.  Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.  And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent.  And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead."

King David's prophecies in the New Covenant

"For David speaketh concerning him, I foresaw the L-rd always before my face, for he is on my right hand, that I should not be moved: Therefore did my heart rejoice, and my tongue was glad; moreover also my flesh shall rest in hope: Because thou wilt not leave my soul in hell, neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption. Thou hast made known to me the ways of life; thou shalt make me full of joy with thy countenance. Men and brethern, let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulchre is with us unto this day. Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that G-d had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Messiah to sit on his throne; He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Messiah, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption. This Yeshua hath G-d raised up, whereof we all are witnesses. Therefore being by the right hand of G-d exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear, For David is not ascended into the heavens but he saith himself, The L-RD said unto my L-rd, Sit thou on my right hand, until I make thy foes thy footstool. Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that G-d hath made that same Jesus(Yeshua), whom ye have crucified (1), both L-rd and Messiah." Acts 2:25-36. King David wrote in Psalm 16: 8-11 this prophecy that was fulfilled in Yeshua's crucifixion death, burial and bodily resurrection. You can recognize the Messiah from the scriptures.

(1) ( this shows the Jews as well as the Gentiles were responsible for the death of Yeshua and both are under condemnation. Matthew 20:18 and 19 shows the Gentiles were the ones that mocked, scourged and crucified Yeshua)

The Holy One

Psalm 16:10 "For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption."

Compare with

Matthew 28:5-7 "And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Yeshua(Jesus), which was crucified. He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the L-rd lay. And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead and, behold, he goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see him: lo I have told you."

We remember The Messiah's wonderful Resurrection, his blood atonement satisfied the Father once for all.

Peace in the Middle East

The Tenack describes what peace in the middle east will look like and I doubt anyone involved in the middle
east has even imagined what is recorded in the writings of Isaiah 19:23-25" In that day shall there be a
highway out of Egypt to Assyria, and the Assyrian shall come into Egypt, and the Egyptian into Assyria, and
the Egyptians shall serve with the Assyrians.  In that day shall Israel be the third with Egypt and with
Assyria, even a blessing in the midst of the land: Whom the L-RD of hosts shall bless, saying, Blessed be
Egypt my people and Assyria the work of my hands, and Israel mine inheritance."

Only the Messiah of Israel, Yeshua, can bring such a thing about.
May he come soon and we all be ready for him.

Doubt #7 We cannot believe in three G-ds

Believing in Yeshua does not make one believe in three G-d's.  There are three persons in one divine being.  This is described in Isaiah 48:16 (verse 17 goes along with verse 16). "Come ye near unto me, hear ye this, I have not spoken in secret from the beginning; from the time that it was, there am I :  and now the L-rd G-d , and his Spirit hath sent me,  Thus saith the L-RD, thy Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: I am  the L-RD thy God which teacheth thee to profit, which leadeth thee by the way that thou shouldest go".  The L-RD your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel is speaking  and saying that  the L-rd G-d and his Spirit has sent him.  The three persons of the G-d head are clearly seen in these two verses,1)- L-rd G-d  2)- his Spirit  3)-L-RD(thy Redeemer, The Holy One of Israel).   Also the shema Deuteronomy 6:4 describes G-d as a compound unity with the word "One" used

Doubt #6 Yeshua is not our Messiah

Yeshua is not our Messiah has been around for 2,000 years.  Even though no other Name has endured the test of time, not to speak of all the evidence, people still doubt Yeshua being the Messiah.  If a person compares the gospels in the New Covenant with Isaiah 53:1-12 of the Tenach there is no doubt left.

Doubt #5 Salvation can only come through works

It is interesting Religion demands works for salvation but never says how much works is enough.  The Bible show Abraham was justified by believing Genesis 15:6 "And he believed in the L_RD; and he counted it to him for righteousness."  The Bible shows believers are blessed Psalm 2:11,12 "Serve the L_RD with fear and rejoice with trembling.  Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little, Blessed are all they that put their trust in him."

Doubt #4 Man does not inherit a sin nature

Religion wants to be able to work for redemption but our sin nature stand in the way of any works being able to pay for our redemption.  This sin nature was inherited from Adam.  Genesis 5:3 "And Adam lived an hundred and thirty years, and begat a son in his own likeness after his image; and called his name Seth:"  Adam's son was fashioned in Adam's sinful likeness and image.  Genesis 6:5 "And G-d saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually"  Our sin nature came from Adam.

Doubt #3

Doubt #3  Religion can not believe in a virgin birth
The Holy Scriptures tells us of just such an event
Isaiah 7:14 "Therefore the L-rd himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel."
Virgin born Messiah (G-d's Son) was to fulfill Genesis 3:15 "And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel."Normally the seed has to do with the male reproduction aspect but in this case the child was to be virgin born and not have a male seed.

Doubt #2

Doubt #2 is G-d can have no Son
People are confused by religions beliefs that a monotheistic G-d can have no Son and for  the Son be G-d himself.  The Holy Scriptures, G-d's word that shall never pass away, describes His Son.Psalms 2:7  "I will declare the decree: the L_RD hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee."
Proverbs 30:4 "Who hath ascended up into heaven, or descended: who hath gathered the wind in his fists: who hath bound the waters in a garment: who hath established all the ends of earth; what is his name, and what is his son's name, if thou canst tell?"
Isaiah 9:6 "For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty G-d, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace."

Doubts

The next few post will be on some doubts people have about the Messiah of Israel.

Doubt one-Messiah is not to be G-d

The scriptures show Messiah is G-d in Psalms 2;7  "I will declare the decree: the L-RD hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee."

"Behold, the days come, saith the L-RD, that I will raise unto David a righteous Branch, and a King shall reign and prosper, and shall execute judgment and justice in the earth.  In his days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely; and this is his name whereby he shall be called, THE L-RD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS." Jeremiah 23:5,6

Psalm 2: 12 "Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him."

"For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder; and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty G-d, The everlasting Father,  The Prince of Peace."  Isaiah 9:6

Proverbs 30:4 "Who hath ascended up into heaven, or descended? who hath gathered the wind in his fists? who hath bound the waters in a garment? who hath established all the ends of the earth? what is his name, and what is his son's name, if thou canst tell?

The Messiah is G-d come down to earth to redeem us back to himself.  Rejoice.

Grandchildren, dementia, and life in general

This is a repost from three years ago.  Even as Ed's health is decreasing,  G-d does not change.  Hope this is an encouragement to you.

For the past week we have had nine grandchildren here( not all to once).  Now grandchildren on any level are interesting.  These were no different.  They are a blessing and so different from each other.  They are an amusement to my husband and helps him to enjoy life a little bit.  ("Children's children are the crown of old men;..."Proverbs 17:6a)
.
Ed's dementia has increase.  He has had schizophrenia for years, now he also has dementia.   As the doctor said, "he could loose quite a bit of his memory and it not be noticeable because he is so intelligent". Sometimes he uses the wrong word for what he is trying to say, doesn't remember what was told him, tires from activity easily, gets the time of day turned around, doesn't know the day, month, etc.("He removeth away the speech of the trusty, and taketh away the understanding of the aged." Job 12:20)

What I just wrote is a picture of real life, good and bad.  One thing that makes life worth living is the joy G-d gives us each day in small things and in bad situations,God's wisdom to see life in terms of eternity (Thou shalt guide me with thy counsel and afterwards receive me to glory."  Psalms 73:24), the Bible's truths being lived out in front of my eyes("For ever, O L-RD, thy word is settled in heaven.") .Enjoy the day, be thankful for what you have, love the L-RD with all your heart.  You will not regret it.("This is the day which the L-RD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it." Psalms118:24)

Two things

This is an interesting petition found in the book of Proverbs(chapter 30:7-9)

"Two things have I required of thee; deny me them not before I die: Remove far from me vanity and lies; give me neither poverty nor riches; feed me with food convenient for me; Lest I be full; and deny thee, and say , Who is the L-RD? or lest I be poor, and steal. and take the name of my G-d in vain."

It is good to be content with such things as we have and to be thankful to G-d for them. When we have abundance it gives us a false sense of security and causes us to think we do not need G-d. When we lack the necessities of life we want to curse G-d and blame Him for our lack. Those who have put trust in Yeshua have an inheritance in heaven where moth and rust does not corrupt and thieves do not break in and steal.

The Power of The Devil

"Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; and delivered them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage. For verily he took not on him the nature of angels; but he took on him the seed of Abraham" Hebrews 2:14-16

We are made of flesh and blood so Yeshua (Jesus) also took part of flesh and blood. (Yeshua's blood being G-d's blood-Acts 20:28). Through Yeshua's death and bodily resurrection the Devil's power over death was destroyed. For those that have put their faith in Yeshua there is no more need to fear death. We are secure in Him.

Gentile=Catholic=Christian

Some Jews are fearful of embracing Messiah because they belief that would make them a Goy(Gentile) and all Gentiles are Catholic which is Christian.

First of all, nothing can change you physically from what you already are no matter what you believe. Beliefs change your position spiritually with G-d, not physically with G-d.

Second, all Gentiles are not Catholic. There are many religions among the Gentiles and only one of them is Catholic.

Thirdly Catholics are not Christian believers. Catholics say they are Christian but a Christian believer is one who believes in the Trinity, that there is one mediator between G-d and man and that is the man Christ(Messiah) Jesus(Yeshua), the Bible is the final authority, no one and nothing else is the final authority. Turning to G-d from idols, having faith in the finished work of the Messiah. in the blood of Jesus(Yeshua) and his resurrection redeems a person and makes them a new creature, giving them a home in heaven when they leave this earth.

There are many other differences between a Catholic and a Christian believer. When a person truly embraces the Messiah they become G-d's child, spiritually Jewish, and changed inwardly forever.

Still singing

If you enjoy singing you are not alone.  Singing is an important part of worshiping the L-RD.

"And all the congregation worshipped, and the singers sang..." II Chronicles 29:28
"And they sang together by course in praising and giving thanks unto the L-RD;because he is good, for his mercy endureth for ever toward Israel." Ezra 3:11
"Serve the L-RD with gladness: come before his presence with singing." Psalm100:2

Not only do we enjoy singing or listening to singing but one day The L-RD thy G-d  will sing over Israel.

"Sing, O daughter of Zion; shout, O Israel; be glad and rejoice with all the heart, O daughter of Jerusalem.  The L-RD hath taken away thy judgments, he hath cast out thine enemy: the king of Israel, even the L-RD, is in the midst of thee: thou shalt not see evil anymore.  In that day it shall be said to Jerusalem, Fear thou not: and to Zion, Let not thine hands be slack.  The L-RD thy G-d in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing."
