"And thou shalt love the L-RD thy G-d with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might." Deuteronomy 6:5
Love is the basis for the great commandment. The New Covenant tells us "Put on therefore, as the elect of G-d, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering: forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Messiah forgave you, so also do ye.And above all these things, put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness."
When we love G-d with all our heart, soul, and might we will love others.

Repentance: man's view vs The Bible
have you ever heard of Teshuva? I hadn't until I came across an article on a web site that was explaining the rabinic concept of repentance. It is interesting that the rabinic concept of repentance has to do with good works. Here is a quote from Rabbi Yonason Goldson's article. "Teshuva is a process of self-transformation, of changing ourselves into the kinds of individuals incapable of ever again committing our earlier transgressions and indiscretions. "
Have you ever looked in the Bible to see what G-d says of good works? "For thou, L-RD, hast made me glad through thy work: I will triumph in the works of thy hands. O L-RD, how great are thy works and thy thoughts are very deep."Psalm 92:4,5 Most of works in the Bible has to do with G-d's works. Only G-d can transform a person into a new creature when we have repentance toward G-d and faith toward our Messiah Yeshua. The Bible does mention our righteousness. "But we are all as an unclean thing , and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags, and we all do fade as a leaf: and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away." Isaiah 64:6
Given the choice of G-d changing me or depending on my own righteousness that is as filthy rags, I will choose G-d to change me. What will you choose?

How does Jacob's Trouble end
Zechariah 13:8,9"And it shall come to pass, that in all the land, saith the L-RD, two parts therein shall be cut off and die; but the third shall be left therein. And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will try them as gold is tried: they shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, It is my people: and they shall say, The L-RD is my G-d"The end of Jacob's trouble comes about when Israel as a nation recognizes their Messiah. "And one shall say unto him, What are these wounds in thine hands: Then he shall answer, Those with which I was wounded in the house of my friends." Zechariah 13:6
Once Yeshua returns to put all enemies under his feet, the one thousand year reign begins with Yeshua King ruling from Jerusalem. What happens during and after the one thousand years is another subject for a different post.
Jacob's trouble is a terrible time not to be compared with inquisitions or Holocaust. It is a time that can be avoided if one will repent toward G-d and have faith toward our L-RD Yeshua

Time of Jacob's trouble
The Time of Jacob's Trouble begins after the church ( any person, Jew or Gentile, that has repented toward G-d and has faith toward our L-rd Yeshua) is taken out of the world.
The Time of Jacob's Trouble will last 7 years.
The first 3 1/2 year period starts with G-d allowing a one world ruler to come in peacefully to rule from Jerusalem, ruthlessly maintaining power. G-d's judgement starts to be poured out on the earth at the same time the one world ruler is taking control of the world. Some of G-d's plagues are 1)1/3 of trees burnt up and all green grass by hail and fire mingled with blood. 2)1/3 of sea becomes blood and 1/3 of living creatures which were in the sea die and 1/3 part of the ships are destroyed. 3)1/3 part of the waters became wormwood and many men will die of the waters because they were made bitter. 4)1/3 part of the sun is smitten and the 1/3 part of the moon and stars are darkened and the day doesn't shine for 1/3 part of the day or the night. There are more plaques. You can read them in Revelation chapters 8 and 9 Two witnesses do miracles proclaiming the One true G-d. When they are killed a great party is thrown. 31/2 days later G-d brings them back to life and they are taken up in a cloud. Revelation 11:3-12
In the second half of the time of Jacob's trouble, (the great tribulation),there are 144,000 Jewish virgin males, 12 thousand sealed from each tribe, that witness to the people that Yeshua is the Messiah and to receive him. They are all martyred. Many people turn to G-d as a result of their testimony.
The second 31/2 year period starts with the one world ruler entering the rebuilt temple proclaiming himself G-d and demands worship, giving a number, name, or mark to anyone that will worship him. Without the mark one is not able to buy or sell. Revelation 13:16-18 The Jewish nation as a whole flee Jerusalem.
The one world economic commercial system is destroyed at the last 31/2 year period. All nations come against Israel. Revelation 16:14-16
